Ideally, the fresh placenta preparation process should be started within the first 2 or 3 days. If it cannot be started while fresh (in cases of the hospital holding the placenta for a period of time) then it will need to be frozen. Fresh placenta is better than frozen but frozen is far better than spoiled placenta. I make every effort to keep my schedule flexible so that I can serve you during the most ideal windows of time. However, as a professional birth doula, I do have scheduled meetings and non-schedule-able births happening that I also need to take into consideration. If there are scheduling factors we can discuss the best options for your situation at that time.
